Sakura Tea

Sakura tea, or cherry blossom tea, is a traditional Japanese drink that features an infusion of sakura blossoms and roasted green tea leaves. Sakura flowers are typically available from late March to early April, during the annual bloom season. The flower petals and leaf matter are ground and combined with hot water before being strained and served. Some versions may include other additives such as honey or ginger slices. The flavour is sweet, with a hint of apricot. The cherry blossoms were traditionally used to symbolize the arrival of spring while the sakura leaves are still available in winter.
