Chicory Tea Dried Cichorium Intybus Herbal Tea

Chicory

Chicory is a flowering plant of the dandelion family Asteraceae, usually with bright blue flowers, rarely white or pink. Many varieties are cultivated for salad leaves, chicons, or roots, which are baked, ground, and used as a coffee substitute and food additive. A very useful ingredient, inulin, an extract from chicory root, has been used in food manufacturing as a sweetener and source of dietary fibre. Hot or cold teas made from Chicory offer coffee like flavour with additional benefit of being naturally caffeine free. The flavour of Chicory tea is more gentle than coffee. It also features additional herbal notes making it an excellent herbal drink.  This sundried Chicory comes from India where it was harvested and sundried using traditional methods.
